  • Critic Reviews for Creature from the Black Lagoon All Critics (32) | Top Critics (4) | Fresh (27) | Rotten (5) | DVD (5) It makes for solid horror-thrill entertainment.

  • "Creature from the Black Lagoon" is a movie I saw on a Saturday afternoon TV show called "Monster Movies". I loved it from the start. I now own the DVD collection and I find all the movies entertaining. The first of the series was, of course, "Creature from the Black Lagoon".

  • Creature from the Black Lagoon was followed by Revenge of the Creature (1955) and The Creature Walks Among Us (1956). For years, there have been talks of a big Hollywood remake and hopefully, it won’t go the route of The Wolfman remake if it happens at all.

  • Creature from the Black Lagoon is one of those movies that just fit the time and era. Spring of 1954 (heck, two years before I was born) Creature was unleashed on an unsuspecting society. The world was reeling and teetering after Korea.

  • THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON is the same as the first issue in the Universal Horror Blu Ray set. Beautiful 3D. THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US is also beautiful although 2D as it was never filmed in 3D. Now for the horror. THE REVENGE OF THE CREATURE that everyone was looking forward to has been authored in a side by side cheap version.

  • Like their magnificent “It came from Outer Space”, Creature From The Black Lagoon was also filmed in 3-D, but it was probably the last of the 3-D boom pictures and since viewer interest in 3-D was fading , most movie houses presented it in 2-D.

  • Creature From the Black Lagoon is a good piece of science-fiction of the beauty and the beast school, the beast in this case being a monstrous combination of man and fish. It makes for solid horror-thrill entertainment.
