  • Audience Reviews for The Postman Always Rings Twice ½ I wasn't expecting a classic film noir along the lines of "Double Indemnity" or "Out of the Past" when I finally got around to watching The Postman Always Rings Twice, and for awhile, I thought I might have been wrong.

  • This book is a riveting classic of duplicity, love found, lost, and then found again, even eighty years after its first publication date. It has moments of gut wrenching suspense interspersed with examples of heartless cruelty, and innocent, young, sweet love.

  • What is more, there is a short subplot with Anjelica Huston, and in the words of Roger Ebert, she seems "to be visiting from another movie." Overall, if you can look at this film as a collection of scenes from an acting class and divorce yourself from the need of a consistent story, The Postman Always Rings Twice is a good film.

  • "The Postman Always Rings Twice" is 113 minutes and contains the following subtitles: English, French, Spanish(Castillian), Spanish(Latino), Portuguese, German, and Italian. The Audio is English DTS-HD Master Audio Mono 1.0 and Dolby Digital Mono for the following: Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Italian.

  • The Postman Always Rings Twice is simply the best film noir ever done. Lana Turner, who got billing above John Garfield in this movie, and deservedly so, is stunning as Cora, the most alluring woman I've ever seen on screen, the quintessential femme fatale.

  • “The Postman Always Rings Twice” is an absolutely superb mounting of a hollow and disappointing production. It shows a technical mastery of filmmaking, and we are dazzled by the performances, the atmosphere, the mood of mounting violence.

  • The 1946 version of 'The Postman Always Rings Twice' arrives on Blu-ray packaged in a standard case. Video codec is 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 and default audio is DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0. Once the disc is inserted in the player, the static menu with music immediately pops up; no previews or promos precede it.
