  • Audience Reviews for It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. The movie version of one of those little clown cars that a hundred clowns get in and out of, it descends into pure over-the-top silliness with ...

  • And so, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" endures—in fact, it actually holds up better today than the vast majority of Stanley Kramer's more serious and topical dramas. Those films were daring for their time to a certain degree but they have dated quite badly and whatever impact that may have once held has been lost due to changing times.

  • Andrew's Blu-ray Review: ‘It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World’ [1963] is a wild comedy about the pursuit of Money. It's a wonderfully crazy and colourful collection of "chase" comedy, so crowded with plot and people that it almost splits the seams of its huge Cinerama 2.76:1 [70mm Ultra Panavision] presentation.

  • "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World" was his foray into comedy, though one dealing with the problem of greed. Money was a problem for the film, too. Made as a "comedy spectacular" over three hours in length, "Mad4" only just earned back its high cost.

  • Parents need to know that drinking (in the case of one character, comical nonstop drunkenness) and smoking are fairly common in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. There is an abundance of slapstick roughhousing, reckless driving, and cartoonish violence, with most of the cast ... in a cast by the end.

  • Unfortunately, this is the sort of thing that can work very badly against a film of this type -- the music often seems as though it's attempting to be funnier than the film itself (in the case of It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World it's a fact that the music is often a lot funnier than the events onscreen).

  • It's also long, long, long... well, you get the picture. Mad, Mad World is the brainchild of director Stanley Kramer, best known for films like Inherit the Wind and Judgment at Nuremburg, who ...
