  • Justice League: The New Frontier is a thin adaptation of the source material, offering some strong action beats and a suitably ludicrous villain, but none of the original story's depth or significance.

  • Parents need to know that Justice League: The New Frontier is a 2008 animated feature in which beloved superheroes face Cold War paranoia and a spreading international threat. This is a violent cartoon, with blood and dead bodies shown.

  • Critic Reviews for Justice League: The New Frontier All Critics (3) | Fresh (3) | Rotten (0) | DVD (5) a joy for an old-school comic book fan, and hopefully a view of some awesome things to come.

  • The Complete Justice League History, full audio commentary (2 separate tracks) with the show's creative team and the graphic novel's writer Darwyn Cooke. There's also an interesting look at DC's feature film release: Batman Gotham Knight (which was to follow).

  • The creative team behind "Superman: Doomsday" and "Justice League Unlimited" explore the origins of the Justice League in the latest animated adventure "Justice League: The New Frontier". Set in the 1950s, the US Government has taken serious actions against superheroes and forcing some to become fugitives.

  • I tore into and viewed it moments after it was released and came away with a shrug. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it well enough but having just completed the final season of The Justice League Unlimited, I fear I went into New Frontier with expectations higher than even Superman's capable of flying.

  • Justice League: The New Frontier is directed by frequent Cooke collaborator David Bullock, and it is based on the 2004 comic book miniseries The New Frontier. In that drawn adventure novel, the writer/artist used his love of 1950s comics and culture to weave a complex tapestry using a host of genres, characters, and real world political touchstones.

  • For the most part, Justice League: The New Frontier sticks to this same storyline. But condensing nearly 400 pages of story into a 75 minute feature is bound to cause some collateral damage.

  • You won’t find children lining up outside your local cineplex to see Justice League: The New Frontier, one of 2008’s best animated features, because it was never meant for theaters.Released as a direct-to-DVD title by Warner Bros. Animation (the studio behind last year’s Superman: Doomsday) for an intended home video debut, the film isn’t amassing Pixar-sized numbers.
