  • The Species franchise took a tumble after the third film, but with this film, the series attains a new low. As a whole, this is a shameful end to end the series, but at the same time I'm not surprised it ended this way because the previous sequel was bad as well.

  • The Awakening, as evidenced by its 15 rating, delivers the bare minimum that one could expect from a film with the Species title. Cautiously exploitative. Like its heroine, The Awakening is in denial, trying its best not to give in to its primitive instincts.

  • Species – The Awakening is every bit as disappointing as you might expect & then some. It deviates from the plot line set up by the first three films, instead choosing to re-imagine a different scenario.

  • Great addition to the species franchise. Finally, an ending that I can live with, and it leaves room for another, which I look forward to.

  • Species: The Awakening continues the premise of the prior installment in stating that there are already members of the alien Species living amongst us in hiding. While in Species 3 they were all surviving offspring of Eve or the astronaut guy from Species 2 , here they were created in a lab in Mexico that does the same research that created the ...

  • “Species the Awakening” is a fair B-movie. It won’t hurt you to watch it but there aren’t many scenes that are memorable. Actually, it’s pretty much fading from memory now.

  • Species- The Awakening: Movie Review (Scream Factory) - Duration: 3 minutes, 55 seconds.

  • Species: The Awakening — 3.75/5 The movie offers a decent DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track that, like Species III gets a nice boost with the bass turning on during some of the action sequences and providing some much needed depth. It’s nothing extraordinary but still highly effective especially considering the source material.
