The Country Bears Movie Overview

For Beary Barrington, The Country Bears' young #1 fan, fitting in with his all-too-human family is proving im-paws-ible. When he runs away to find Country Bear Hall and his heroes, he discovers the venue that made them famous is near foreclosure. Beary hightails it over the river and through the woods to get the Bears in the Band back together for an all-out reunion concert to save Country Bear Hall.

  • Audience Reviews for The Country Bears. For a kid's movie, this was actually decent. The bears are cute and the story is okay. One of the few kids films I have seen that hasn't made me want to ...

  • The film is about a young fan of the now-retired Country Bears, a musical group that was once very huge. It is ironic that the villain wants to tear down Country Bear Hall since Disney, the maker of this motion picture, later tore down Country Bear Hall at Disneyland.

  • THE COUNTRY BEARS begins with some wit and style – a wood-burning credit sequence and "Behind the Music"-style clips about the beloved band's rise and fall. Their last series of concerts was called the "Hiber-Nation" tour.

  • Little Beary then begins to meet the members of the Country Bears, and to persuade them, in a series of adventures, to reunite and stage a benefit concert to save the hall. One of the movie's running gags is that recording stars appear as themselves, talking about the Bears.

  • The Country Bears movie reviews & Metacritic score: The story of how eager young fan Beary Barrington can convince the bitter ex-members of the rock band "Th...

  • Plus, the potential for a peculiar musical number is ever present, reminding us that Bears takes its inspiration from a show, not a pulse-quickening ride. Which brings us to the Country Bears themselves. Constructed in Jim Henson's Creature Shop, the boxy, uncoordinated beasts elicit fear, not astonishment.
