Shakespeare in Love Movie Overview

Young Shakespeare is forced to stage his latest comedy, "Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter," before it's even written. When a lovely noblewoman auditions for a role, they fall into forbidden love -- and his play finds a new life (and title). As their relationship progresses, Shakespeare's comedy soon transforms into tragedy.

  • Shakespeare in Love, the best picture winner of 1998, I know this film receives a lot of bashing due to that win. I believe that also Saving Private Ryan was nominated, which it was also an incredible film.

  • Shakespeare in Love is a film that I really wanted to enjoy, but I simply didn't get into it. For me, it's a mediocre film, one that fails to really grab your attention and it really should have been something great.
