  • The Chronicles of Riddick is a picture that suffers from an underdeveloped script and it tries to put way too many elements on-screen that don't work.

  • David Towhy's "Chronicles of Riddick", which follows the main character of his "Pitch Black", is very unwieldy, needlessly convoluted, and ambitious in scale and scope. That being said, I enjoyed the movie largely because of Vin Diesel, and the appeal of the character Riddick.

  • "The Chronicles of Riddick" happens five years after the events in Pitch Black and a lot has changed in that time. Dark Fury was created as a bridge between the two movies and to allow the authors to delve a little deeper into the universe of Riddick. The movie only partially succeeds in that attempt.

  • This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Chronicles of Riddick is a sequel to the 2004 sci-fi film Pitch Black directed by David Twohy with Vin Diesel , Judi Dench and Colm Feore . The plot is set five years after the events of the first film .

  • Chronicles of Riddick is campy, plain and simple. I can see where some people would be put off by that. Its a space opera, not unlike the novels of David Weber or William Dietz.

  • "The Chronicles of Riddick" is above all an exercise in computer-generated effects, and indeed the project represents the direction action movies are taking, as its human actors (or their digital clones) are inserted into manifestly artificial scenes that look like frames from the darkest of superhero comic books.
