  • "Eddie The Eagle" is the type of film that will have you smiling the whole way through, even though you will be admitting you have seen underdog stories like this many times before. Taron Egerton (of "Kingsman: The Secret Service" fame) shines brightly as the title character, making for a very believable film overall.

  • (Even though it has similarities to Amazing movie - didn't know the story about the real Eddie The Eagle and still it was really amazing movie, well filmed, good actors, fun comedy parts and yet really inspiring and based on true events.

  • • Eddie the Eagle is released in the US on 26 February and in the UK on 28 March.

  • Eddie the Eagle was a hero to everyone in the UK in the 80s and 90s. He was the British Jamaican bobsleigh team. Everyone thought he was going to fail, and felt sorry for him, and that was a bit of a pratt.

  • Cue multiple monatges as Eddie learns to jump from ever greater heights, earns his ‘Eagle’ nickname thanks to some poorly choreographed celebrations, and endeavours to avoid bringing the sport into disrepute as the worst athlete in Olympic history.

  • Once Eddie sets his sights on ski jumping—an event Great Britain hadn’t competed in since the 1920s—he travels to Germany to train with the world’s greats, who’ve been tackling this terrifying sport since they were little kids.

  • Eddie the Eagle interview – video With cheeky hints at Chariots of Fire in the staccato synth soundtrack, and even Billy Elliot in the dialogue (“It’s not like I’m taking up ballet!”), this is a weirdly embellished, fictionalised and mythologised biopic, with Taron Egerton gamely impersonating the bespectacled Olympian.

  • EDDIE THE EAGLE is the story of how working-class British ski jumper Eddie Edwards (Taron Egerton) spent his entire life dreaming of making it to the Olympics and managed, through an unlikely series of events, to make it happen.
