  • Isle of Dogs (2018) Rounding out the alpha dog crew are Rex (voice of Edward Norton) and Duke (voice of Jeff Goldblum ), who is so gossipy he puts Wendy Williams, Benita Butrell and TMZ to shame. When not getting information from a pug named Oracle, the dogs rely on gossip as their primary means of information.

  • Critic Reviews for Isle of Dogs. Isle of Dogs is in need of a stronger storyteller. And, yes, there are times when the cleverness starts to feel smug. I would have liked Isle of Dogs more if there had been less of it. March 28, 2018 | Rating: 2.5/4 | Full Review… Maybe I'm just a cat person.

  • In ISLE OF DOGS, canine flu has ravaged a futuristic Japan, and the tyrannical mayor Kobayashi (voiced by Kunichi Nomura) decides to exile all dogs to Trash Island, starting with his own son Atari's faithful pooch, Spots (Liev Schreiber).

  • Isle of Dogs review – Wes Anderson's scintillating stop-motion has bite. Still, the production design is consistently inspired and often quite beautiful: rippling glittery seas, a line of elongated doggie shadows marching along a wall of garbage, a multi-coloured hideout made of discarded sake bottles.

  • Review: Wes Anderson’s Bleakly Beautiful ‘Isle of Dogs’Review: Wes Anderson’s Bleakly Beautiful ‘Isle of Dogs’. “Isle of Dogs” is filled with exquisite illustrations, whimsical flourishes and nostalgic details — old-fashioned labels, computer punch cards — that thicken the texture of its imaginary world.

  • Film Review: ‘Isle of Dogs’ Wes Anderson returns happily to animation with a Japanophilic canine adventure that is richly imagined, drily witty and, finally, barking mad.

  • Isle of Dogs unfolds in the near future in a purportedly democratic but pointedly authoritarian Japan, where the cat-loving Megasaki mayor, Kobayashi, exiles his city’s dogs — most of them ...

  • Summary: Isle of Dogs tells the story of Atari Kobayashi, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots.

  • Isle of Dogs take place in the near future, in the Japanese city of Megasaki, where the corrupt Mayor Kobayashi (Kunichi Nomura) has exiled every single dog to a nearby island full of garbage.
