  • This classic edition of THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD was first published in 1930, by \"Watty Piper,\" a pen name of Arnold Munk, who was a partner in the book's original publishing company, Platt & Munk. Versions of the story had previously appeared in magazines and anthologies, but his was the first version in book form.

  • I am so glad Amazon had this version of The Little Engine That Could book. Also was happy to have it in hardcover. I wasn't sure at first if my almost 4 yr. old would like the old fashioned looking pictures but she was very excited pointing to all the animals, toys, trains and clown as I was reading the book to her.

  • You wouldn't really use "scary" to describe the story "the little engine that could" but that's what this movie is. A large portion of the movie is scary and the scenes are dark. It's like the writers didn't consider that the main audience would be toddlers or little children.

  • The Little Engine That Could is a classic. It has been done and re-redone but still children love it, and for good reason. It's about a train that is carrying toys and food for good boys and girls on the other side of the mountain, but the the train breaks down.

  • Watty Piper is the pseudonym of Arnold Munk, author behind the classic retelling of The Little Engine That Could and cofounder of Platt & Munk Publishers (now part of Grosset & Dunlap.) Munk’s retelling of the beloved children’s tale has sold millions of copies since its 1930 publication and inspired generations to believe they can.

  • "The Little Engine That Could" is a 1991 short film that runs for slightly half an hour. as this one has its 25th anniversary this year I thought this may be a good time to give it another watch.

  • Based on the classic children's tale, this version of THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD is original and features an expert voice cast that makes the characters come alive. Little Engine, Richard, and their friends have to overcome a number of obstacles -- mechanical, environmental, and emotional -- to make it over the mountain, and it's tense at times as our heroes attempt to outsmart the maniacal Nightmare Train.

  • As a 50-minute musical designed for elementary-school-aged kids and younger, “The Little Engine That Could” could ding-dong along the rails just fine without the added family narrative, though ...

  • The timeless story comes to life in this all-new, feature-length film filled with fun and adventure! When Little Engine (Alyson Stoner, Cheaper by the Dozen) must leave Dreamland to deliver toys ...
