  • Murder in the First, a masterfully paced balance of tricky whodunit and character development, seems to have benefited from both Bochco's hits and the misses, as well as the cable-led experimentation with shorter seasons.

  • Murder in The First is a courtroom drama based upon the true story of a man who was transformed into a murderer on the brink of insanity by his merciless treatment at the hands of the American ...

  • Murder in the First follows homicide detectives Terry English (Taye Diggs) and Hildy Mulligan (Kathleen Robertson) as they investigate two seemingly unrelated murders.

  • “Murder in the First" takes place in two worlds. One is cold, gray and artificially lit. The other is as warm as a cedar's dream, all sunlight and furniture polish, brass and tweed. The film is about how a man who lives in one of these worlds might learn to trust a man who lives in the other one.

  • The first episode was a little intense with the crime. It was about two kids who open fire on a school bus. I personally like it better The first episode was a little intense with the crime.

  • Murder in the First is a perplexing show given it's pedigree. The bar is set quite high when you see this is a Steven Bochco creation; "Hill St. Blues", "NYPD Blues", "Cop Rock"...(OK, so "Cop Rock" was an aberration), Bochco really established the gritty, realistic police drama genre.

  • Loosely based on fact, MURDER IN THE FIRST centers on Henri Young (Kevin Bacon), a petty criminal who tries to escape from Alcatraz in 1928. As punishment he is placed in solitary confinement for over three years. Upon his release, he murders a fellow prisoner.

  • Decent police procedural has violence, slow-burn plot. Read Common Sense Media's Murder in the First review, age rating, and parents guide.

  • Season 3 of Murder in the First has been up and down, but with “Rise of the Phoenix” the show quickly dispatches one of its two main plot lines and returns the focus to who killed Normandy ...

  • 'Murder in the First' review: TNT cop drama makes a killing [...] the subgenre is never going away and, second, most attempts to put lipstick on this particular pig miss the mark.
