  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a rare low-budget overnight sensation that produced hysteria and is still a disturbingly entertaining film for audiences then and now. 4/5 Eugene Bernabe

  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A true crime movie like Richard Brooks ’ “ In Cold Blood ,” which studies the personalities and compulsions of two killers, dealt directly with documented material and was all the more effective for that. But “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” could have been made up from whole cloth without any apparent difference.

  • "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" is without a doubt one of the most, possibly the most suspenseful film of its genre. This movie works because it has a cast of unknowns. They were unknown for their time, and still unknown for now.

  • Misunderstood by audiences and reviled by critics at the time of its original theatrical release in 1986, Tobe Hooper's "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2" has grown in stature over the years. While the original is the better and more important film of the two, the sequel is actually the one I tend to watch the most.

  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Review: This movie is one of the greatest horror films of all time, one of the most influential movies of all time, and one of my favorite horror films of all time.

  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation is widely regarded as the worst film in the series, and it's not really that hard to see why. Sure, the movie might have some A-list actors in it in the form of young Renée Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey, but star power doesn't always relate to ...

  • THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE is considered a classic by horror movie aficionados, and it's easy to see why--at the time, no one had ever created anything quite like it. Some called it a brilliant commentary on a post-Vietnam era. Others called it the most offensive movie ever made.

  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The movie is a remake of, or was inspired by, the 1974 horror film by Tobe Hooper. That film at least had the raw power of its originality. It proceeded from Hooper's fascination with the story and his need to tell it. This new version, made by a man who has previously directed music videos,...
